Our polling and focus groups show people in Boulder go out to dinner and then a movie so if you click on Dinner and a Movie, it will take you to this weeks movie listing. The new channel search engine is an online media format. We are part of Channel 1 Networks here in Boulder and have been in the restaurant scene since 1975 when we wrote the Book of Boulder Bar and Restaurant Hopping, Jann wrote that "classic " We started this site in 2005 and decided to make it the most user friendly restaurant site in Boulder. The perfect Easter Bar b Q sauce recipe
Getting ready for the big dayspent the whole day setting up for tomorrows party. Expecting between 30 and 100 sober friends. I don’t drink anymore nor use drugs, actually, not since I was a kid.
My 32nd annual easter bar-B-Que is always a fun mix of long time friends and new ones too.
I’m having Chicken, hot dogs, burgers, and ham all barb-b-q’d over an open bricket fire. There will be baked potatoes, and peppers also barbq’d. I usually pre-cook the chicken and ham and then whip them on the Barb for the final cook through other wise it takes too long and there is nothing worse than making hungry guests wait. It’s not like everyone is drinking and could give a shit about the food. No No. These people want lunch. And I’m just the guy to provide it. This is also a bring a dish party, so some folks bring remarkable dishes. You know, I think, next year, i turn it into a cooking competition. You know, best desert, best salad, best behaved child.
I have also developed a nice tangy Bar-B-Q red sauce that was a big hit last year:
Jannz Tangy red bar-b-q sauce
1 qt Heinz ketchup
1 pt white vinegar
4 squished large garlic cloves
black pepper
1 cup yellow mustard
1 chopped medium onion
1 tablespoon of red hot sauce
slowly bing up to boil stirring often. if you don’t stir the sauce and bring to slow boil it will caramelize and burn on the bottom in a New York second. Cook for one hour stirring often.
You can brush the sauce on the chick while it is on the fire. Or you can also cook the chicken with sauce in the oven after you let the chicken cook for a while with out sauce. Drain off the fat first, then add sauce, then barbq
